Hello,
We are running 4.1.5f on a 7341 attached to a 6509 using Layer 2 Mask Assign. We are getting the CIFS keepalive error:
MRG-WAE-01#show alarms
Critical Alarms:
----------------
None
Major Alarms:
-------------
Alarm ID Module/Submodule Instance
-------------------- -------------------- --------------------
1 tfo_accl_wellness sysmon accl=CIFS
Minor Alarms:

None
We have thousands of users accessing the WAE from remote sites that are not getting CIFS acceleration because of this error, and as a result our entire European region is coming to a grinding halt. I have already tried rebuilding the WAE from scratch with the recovery CD. The error returned within minutes after re-enabling WCCP, and hundreds of CIFS connections appear "as pass-through in progress". TAC case number is 618242301. Any help would be appreciated. This is now a priority 1 issue internally, because of the scope and severity of the problem.
Thanks.

Problem solved. It turns out this issue is caused by having and incorrect DNS server configured on the WAE. Since CIFS AO needs DNS to resolve CIFS hostnames, DNS failure can cause CIFS acceleration failure. Removing the bogus DNS server address, configuring the correct one, and rebooting resolved the issue.

Thank you for your reply.
While not the direct cause for a similar issue running 4.4.3c It did help locate another cause of the problem. If the
windows-domain wins-server x.x.x.x is misconfigured, this issue occurs as well.
Thanks Randy!
