Hi,
is it possible to configure the CSM in order to have a real server in a server vlan which is several hops away from the 6500, i.e. in a remote site? The VIP would be in a client vlan on the 6500.
Thanks in advance,
Pedro

Pedro,
this is possible but you need to guarantee that the response from the server goes back to the csm and not directly to the client.
In your case I would say the best option is to configure client nat.

Hi Gilles,
thanks for your reply. Can the client nat ip address be a pat on the server vlan? Does the server vlan have to have a static route configured?
It's just that the server farm appears to be operationally out of service, and the connection status is "req_wait".
Regards,
Pedro

Pedro,
you need a static route to the remote server configured on the CSM.
The client nat can be whatever address you want as long as the remote server knows how to reach it - make sure the routing table on every router in the path points in the direction of the csm.
Gilles.
