Quick questions about CSS 11000 series.
1. Can it be used to load balance TN5250 application servers ( this application is bit similar to telnet, and uses TCP port 23).
2. If the single server has two NIC ports ( with two IP addresses assigned to each card), can CSS 11000 can be used to load balance between the NICs on the same server ?

yes and yes.
If the 2 NIC have different ip, they will appear as 2 different servers for the CSS.
For your application, we can loadbalance any TCP traffic.
However, if data inspection is required, this is only possible for a few protocols like FTP or HTTP - not TN5250.
Traffic inspection is sometimes required to make a loadbalancing decision based on data instead of TCP/IP [ie: http cookie] or if a protocol passes network information [like ftp data port] that requires to be nated.
Hope this helps.
