I have a couple 11154. I am trying to figure out what they can and can not do compared with the newer models. I saw a posting that said the 11500 and up will do active/active or keep connections running if one fails, etc. but any older versions will not.
Is this correct? Any links to point me to a table of software versions, upgrades, comparesions, etc?
Thanks much!

HI,
you are right active active with session redudnacy ispossible with CSS 1150x (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/contnetw/ps792/products_configuration_example09186a00802206a3.shtml)
Active active in terms of having a VIP active on one CSS and another VIP active on the "standby" one was possibile earlier too.
A major issue is, that the 11154 is EOS (see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/contnetw/ps789/prod_eol_notice09186a008032d520.html)
At the end of this link a little comparison between the 11000 and the 11500/CSM is given.
Hope that helps.
Kind Regards,
Joerg

What choices do I have now with the 11154 for redudancy?

Hi,
you only have the choice to run vip-redundancy if you have two CSSes. "Simple" vip-redundancy is a stateless redundancy.
