Our client has a firewall Stonbeat cluster. the clusters respond with a multicast MAC address to an ARP request. On Cisco routers, you configure a static ARP for the multicast address. I tried this in the CSS 11503 (arp multicast MAC) but it didn't work.
What should we do?
version is 7.10.

On cisco routers you have to create the entry. In CSS version 7.10 there is a bug in software so you can not enter the static ARP entry for stonebeat multicast address but, you don't need it, because the CSSs dynamically learn the address.

Hi, I am having v7.30 and my firewall(Nokia) is running clustering. I am also wondering whether I could add a static multicat address to my CSS11501. Cos I am experiencing loss of connection to the firewall.
But after I configured a static arp entry in my Cisco 2950 switch it works. However, I still experince the loss of connection on and off. So I had to reboot my switch to resolve the loss connection. The funny thing is that the other servers on the same switch is not experiencing the loss.
Anyone had such encounters.
Best regards.
