CSS Errors - Meaning, How serious?

We've been having some application servers lose connectivity, or experience latency lately. They are connected to a CSS11506-2AC E0 SW Version: 07.50.1.03.

We are getting 2 errors in the log. One error we are getting constantly, it is: SYSSOFT-4: Communications-QUEUE FULL-Ipv4Arp: Internal Messages Dropped.

The other message we seem to get when an app server loses connectivity, or bounces. That error is: NETMAN-2: Enterprise:Service Transition:econappp1-service-ssl -> down. Can someone tell me if there errors are serious, and if so, what sort of problem do they point to.

Thanks, all.

James

yes, they are serious.

You have a device blasting arp messages attached to the css. This overflow the css arp queue and arp messages are getting dropped.

This could be good messages needed by the CSS.

Is the CSS attached to a /16 or /8 network ?

We recommend to only connect /24 subnets.

You can also sniff the interfaces and capture arp traffic to see what it is and if the level is normal or not.

Gilles.
