CSS vs. F5 Networks BIG-IP

Are there any plans for CSS to be able to route based on packet payload? If so, when will it be available?

I know that this is possible to do this based on URL and HTTP packet header information, but F5 Networks BIG-IP seem to have taken the initiative with their Universal Inspection Engine (iRules). The following is extracted from one of their White Papers

"Universal Inspection Engine - BIG-IP inspects application protocols: HTTP,

HTTPS, SMS, MMS FTP, TFTP, SMTP -- any data in the HTTP and TCP data

stream.

iRules - These are rules-based commands that allow administrators to apply

new intelligence and business decisions to traffic management. The Universal Inspection Engine can be programmed to enforce policies specific to a business using these iRules, providing maximum flexibility in application traffic management. Individual iRules can be defined to optimize the handling of traffic - where to send it and when for the fastest response based on application type, category, and priority."

no plan currently.

The reason is that such a feature is very CPU intensive, so the performance is not good.
