Does asymmetric routing create any issues for WAAS and WCCP?

Here's my scenario. In my DC I have two MPLS connections for my WAN. The circuits go into two routers so I have circuit redundancy and router redundancy. Both circuits are in use so a packet could exit one router and the return packet could enter into the other router. WCCP service groups 61 and 62 is configured on both routers and  two WAAS appliances appliances are part of this group. Is this a supported WAAS / WCCP configuration and does WAAS work well in this environment?

hi there,

WAAS cannot work on asymmetric routing ( since packet SYN and SYN/ACK could be received on different paths then WAAS is not able to apply optimization and connectios will appear as PT )  but if you deploy the WCCP services properly it should not be a problem, please review the following post:

hope that helps.
