Dual NIC host default gateway path control

Hi,

This is more of a Windows question (W2K) rather than a firewall question:

I currently support in my one location two Internet connections with different IP address space and firewall hardware. My primary connection is a PIX525 and my alternate connection I use the Netscreen 208.

In my Netscreen DMZ, I have an ftp host that I need to migrate into my primary PIX DMZ. Instead of just moving this ftp server form the Netscreen DMZ to my PIX DMZ, I would enjoy the luxury of migrating this into my PIX DMZ slowly so that I would produce little downtime for my customers.

I first though that I can dual NIC this FTP host and utilize a new FQDN, but then I remembered the default gateway would pose a problem on this Windows server. This leads to me writing for input.

Does anyone know of a way from within the Windows environment how I can configure return packets to traverse through the same interface that these packets arrive on? Is this wishful thinking?

Best Regards

Jeff

This is not possible. There is no way to configure return packets to traverse through the same interface that these packets arrive on
