Failover from one CSS to another CSS?

Hello,

We have a CSS11050. I'm looking for documentation on how to configure two CSS devices to support each other for failover capability. I tried searching the forums, but only found server LB, failover''modules, etc..., but what if the primary CSS device itself suddenly reboots, crashes, or is disconnected for maintenance. I wanted the secondary CSS device to kick in automatically and how does this affect the current live sessions on the failed primary CSS, will the sessions still be retained once the secondary CSS takes control.

Can anyone please point me to the right direction on where to find the solution. Thanks, Lee

The basic redundancy function does not provide statefull redundancy.

So after failover all connections are lost.

For statefull redundancy, you need ASR.

ASR is only possible with CSS 11500.

Gilles.

Thanks, Gilles. So the model I have 11050 only supports VIP and box-to-box redundancy. I'll read through the docs and consider my options.

Thank you
