Logon issues with a Cisco 2960 switch

Concerning a Cisco 2960 switch.  I logged on to change the IP address which it accepted.  When I logged into the new IP address to save, it would not accept the same userid and passwords that I entered to change the IP address.  What gives?

you logged in and changed the mgmt.  ip address of the switch , did you save it then or log back and try and save , changing ip address should have no effect on the actual username and password credentials its just for reachability that address on layer 2 switch

Are you using ACS and AAA security

Hello,

I think here there are diferent cases:

  • You have login local. (You don't have problem to connect again if your new ip address is reacheable)
  • You have a server for authentication (Your new ip address there isn't reacheable for your server). Typical problem you don't configure a new default gateway for this new ip in your new network.

But i need more information about your problem.
