Problem after CSS11503 Update to 8.20.5.01

Hello,

I've recently upgraded six CSS11503s to software version 8.20.5.01.  The upgrade appeared to go without issues and the CSSs operated fine after the upgrade.  Then approximately a week after the upgrade I found three of the CSSs had stopped responding.  I had no connectivity to any of the IP interfaces

The hardware installed is as follows

show inventory

Unique Device Identifier:

NAME: "chassis   ",  DESCR: "Cisco 11503 Content Services Switch SCM-2GE HD AC"
PID: CSS11503-AC       ,  VID: V01,

NAME: "module 1  ",  DESCR: "CSS11500 System Control Module 2GE HD, Order 0-2 SFP"
PID: CSS5-SCM-2GE      ,  VID: V02,

NAME: "module 2  ",  DESCR: "CSS11500 Fast Ethernet IO Module: 8 Port Tx"
PID: CSS5-IOM-8FE      ,  VID: V01,

NAME: "module 3  ",  DESCR: "CSS11500 SSL Compression Module"
PID: CSS5-SSL-C-K9     ,  VID: V02,

A visual check of the switch showed that the System Control Module had no status lights lit.  Other modules appeared to be alive.  I was unable to console onto the switch.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had problems updating to this software version?  Also what is the difference between the 8.20 and 8.10 streams of code?

Regards

Andrew

Hello Andrew-

Please get a TAC case opened on this as soon as possible.  Send in a script play showtech so we can take a look and see if there were any core files. As far as a hunch - I would say this sounds like a new buffer/memory leak of some variety.

Regards,

Chris Higgins
