Hi,
i understand that it is not recommended running compression with ssl on css 11501.
but the docu didnt state if we could perform specific compression (ie. .jsp only ) across ssl encryption.
cheers,

Kelvin,
Its not recommended to perform any compression on any CSS that is not fitted with a hardware compression module - CSS11501-S or the SSL K9 modules for 11503 and 11506. Without the module, compression can be done in software in all 11500 models, so its possible to configure and it will work but for a loaded CSS there will be significant performance impact without the module.

Hi Peter,
I totally Agree with you. And if still someone needs to add it manually the cmd is:-
CSS# sh run service compress
!***** SERVICE ******
service compress
compress enable
content switch
add service compress
vip address X.X.X.X
protocol tcp
port 80
url "/*.JSP" ->. THIS WAY YOU WILL ADD
active
I think this should work like mentioned above. Please feel free to update if it is wrong.
Thanks
Neha
