Traceroute to a Virtual address on a CSM

When I do a traceroute to a Virtaul address on a CSM I get as far as the router before the CSM and then nothing. Is this normal? I can ping the address.

This is the current behavior.

The CSM will actually try to match the udp/icmp packet sent by the client to a vserver, and it will drop it - not knowing it was a traceroute packet.

There is a feature request introduced already for this - CSCdt75365. But it has little chance to be implemented.

You may allways use tcptraceroute VIP_IP_ADDRESS PORT_NUMBER.

regarding problem that Gill is describing.
