Hi,

There is not much that we can say on this without getting a sysreport of the device and having a look at it so I would advise you to open a Service Request and to attach a sysreport to it directly so that the engineer assigned to it can have a look right away.

The procedure to get a sysreport is quite simple:

From the HTTPS GUI of the appliance: on the left pane, you have an option called "Utility".
There under the "Support" tab, you have the ability to generate a sysreport and to download it on the PC the GUI is running on.

From the WAE CLI: the command is the following "copy sysreport " where the method can either be ftp, tftp or disk (For local storage).
The info depends on the method you are using, use the question mark to see which parameter is expected next.

Regards,

Nicolas

Hi,

First thing to check would be to verify if the WAE is seeing the traffic.

Do you have any entries when you do show stat conn?

If so, in which state are the connections you would expect to be optimized?

If not, could you verify that your inline interface is properly set to intercept the traffic:

interface InlineGroup 1/1
ip address X.X.X.X Y.Y.Y.Y
inline vlan all
failover timeout 3
exit
!

If that is correct, can you have a look at the status of your Inline interface with the show interface InlineGroup 1/1  command?

Regards,

Nicolas

hello,

can you please give example of correct configuration in inline mode

I have add the address on interface

and I see the traffic but it's not optimized.

please advise.

Hi,

In which state are the connections when you issue a "show stat conn"? Are they in PT No Peer? PT asymmetric?

If your inline interface is configured as my example of my last post, it should optimize the traffic.

Nicolas

nicolas;

I see the traffic pass-throuth but it is not opetimized.

the address put in the interface inlinegroup it for management ?because I have choose the interface g0/1 as management and primary.

for WEA DCconfiguration :

-------------------------------------

primary-interface GigabitEthernet 1/0
!
!
!
interface GigabitEthernet 1/0
ip address 172.17.50.50 255.255.0.0
exit
interface GigabitEthernet 2/0
shutdown
exit
!
interface InlineGroup 1/0
ip address 172.19.50.40 255.255.0.0
inline vlan all
exit
interface InlineGroup 1/1
inline vlan all
exit
!
!
ip default-gateway 172.17.254.254
!
no auto-register enable
!
! ip path-mtu-discovery is disabled in WAAS by default
!
ip name-server 172.17.1.5
!

central-manager address 172.19.11.240
cms enable

NB:the device is in mode accelerator

for WEA DCconfiguration :

-------------------------------------

primary-interface GigabitEthernet 1/0
!
!
!
interface GigabitEthernet 1/0
ip address 172.17.40.15 255.255.0.0
exit
interface GigabitEthernet 2/0
shutdown
exit
!
interface InlineGroup 1/0
ip address 172.19.50.41 255.255.0.0
inline vlan all
exit
interface InlineGroup 1/1
inline vlan all
exit
!
!
ip default-gateway 172.17.40.1
!
no auto-register enable
!
! ip path-mtu-discovery is disabled in WAAS by default
!
ip name-server 172.17.1.5
!

central-manager address 172.19.11.240
cms enable

NB:the device is in mode accelerator

advice in IP address of interface?

I can't see the peer.

I see the trafick on CM but not optimized.

I  have this topology

"LAN-WEA-WAN router" in branch

LAN-WEA-WAN router

I use Waas V4.0

best regards.

Hi,

Config looks good.

Since you are using 4.0, can you issue "show tfo connection" on your WAEs to see the state of the connection on both sides?

PS: If this is a new setup, I would strongly advise you to go to at least 4.1 since the 4.0 train is going to be EOS and is not widely used anymore.

Regards,

Nicolas

hi;

no result of the command "show tfo conn" :-(

and traffic not optimized.

I have make some modification

I have just add ip add on inlinegroup 1/0 interface.

primary inlinegroup interface 1/0

no ip add on interface giga1/0

advice please

HI,

Can you use tethereal to take captures on the LAN and WAN interfaces of your WAE to make sure your traffic is at least passing through this interface?

Regards,

Nicolas

hi ,

I have take some tests.

I have connect one Workstation to WEA in  DC site and one Workstation in Branche site (direct connection )

workstation 1 --->WEA DC site ---> WAN switch---> IDirect central Hub  Modem

workstation 2 --->WEA branche Site ---> WAN switch---> IDirect Hub  Modem

I have simpliefied the topologie .

for information the  WAN operator is iDirect VSAT.there is one central Hub and  58 clients station (mini Hub) with central management from the central HUB.

I can see the interception in WAAS CM,but the policy is not applied.no optimisation.

advice please.

hi;

thank you for your help, but I think that is an problem with iDirect modem.

I will open TAC CASE with Cisco.

tank you very much for your help.

Best regards

Hi,

I've already saw a couple of times a VSAT modem stripping down the WAAS TCP options and thus preventing it from optimizing traffic so you might be right.

Anyway, it should be easily identifiable within a TAC case, good luck with it

Nicolas

Hi Billel

Any luck with the iDirect modem, i have the same problem
