WAAS 'Master Master'

For one possible deployment, a customer has a main site, a branch site, and a DR site. The topology I'm looking at is:

Controller at main site

WAE 512 at main site

WAE 512 at DR site

IOS NM WAE at branch site

Two questions:

1) Will the main site 512 act as core and the dr site 512 act as edge for traffic going main->dr, and work in reverse roles simultaneously for traffic going dr->main, with dr 512 as core and main 512 as edge?

2) Can the branch NM be Edge to both 512's in their simultaneous Core roles?

Thanx.

Ray.

Ray,

1. You can enable both the WAFS Edge and Core service on the same WAE so long as you have a minimum of 2GB of memory.

2. Yes, the WAFS Edge can connect to multiple WAFS Core Clusters.

Thanks,

Zach

Whichever is configured as Core acts as a core and the one configured as edges run as edges.
