Dear Sir,
We have 2 data centers, and use iSCSI or FCIP protocol as the storage to storage communication protocol between 2 data centers. Due to low bandwidth between 2 data centers, we hope to use WAAS to accelerate ( maybe optimize or compress ) iSCSI & FCIP traffic. Does the WAAS functions ( accelerate, optimize or compress ... ) works for iSCSI & FCIP protocol?
Best Regards,
Jackson Ku

Jackson,
WAAS has a specific mode (called Replication Accelerator) that is intended for optimizing storage replication protocols. You can find more information about this mode here:

If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Zach

Does anyone know why Replication mode is only supported in 4.0. not 4.1?
I know 4.1 has made performance improvements, but has the Replication mode been ditched as a result of that?
I've never heard of a key feature being removed in later versions of software before.

Hi Zach,
We also focus to use WAAS for iSCSI traffic and using WAAS 5.3.1 but have no Replication Accelerator..

Adam
