WCCP on Subinterfaces and Switch Modules with VLANs

When using WCCP redirects for Ethernet, do the redirect commands go on the subinterfaces if your trunking on a router FE? Also, if using a NM-16ESW, do the commands go on the physical interfaces, or on the VLAN?

I think that the commands that are applied to the main ethernet interface will apply to the subinterfaces also. So if you configure

WCCP parameters on the main interface it will apply to the subinterface also.

HI,

if you are using WCCP you have to configure it on an per interface basis. If you are having 3 subinterfaces you want to apply wccp to, you have to configure it 3 times (once per interface).

This is because you are having 3 different IP-Address on the 3 subinterfaces and you do not necessarily have an IP-address configured on the main interface. Additionally you might want to handle HTTP traffic different on the subinterfaces.

Kind Regards,

Joerg
