Why can Riverbed optimize encrypted mapi and Cisco can't?

Why can Riverbed optimize encrypted mapi and Cisco WAAS can't?  Is this something that is in the works and if so when is it going to available.  I know you can use Outlook Anywhere, but our Systems department doesn't want to switch.

Any info appreciated.

On when it will be supported in WAAS, it is in the roadmap but the best person to get this answered is your Cisco partner / Sales people.
