Why LAN and WAN interfaces on Inline-Module?

What ist the reason for having interfaces named WAN and LAN on Inline-Moduls. Is it only for documentation or there a functional need? Will I get any problems if I connect the LAN interface to the WAN side and visa versa?

Hello,

Yes, it is indeed required to connect the WAN-facing link to the WAN interface and the LAN-facing link to the LAN interface. Otherwise traffic optimization might not work correctly.
