Portal feedback

We received feedback through the built-in feedback form and I thought I'd share it with the broader team:

1) Computers showing up as Windows LAN Manager:

The following thread explains why this is happening: https://www.myciscocommunity.com/thread/10903

2) Group Notifications are needed: Definitely a feature in our roadmap, but just to be sure, how exactly would you like it to work?

3) TBA not discovering the ESW and WAP: This is VERY serious. Can you please elaborate on your topology and how you are connecting all these devices?

4) Special characters in the name: I will look into this but why would you need a “.” in the name field?

5) Icon library, add firewall icon: This has been a common request and we will add more icons to the inventory.

A . is a legitimate name for a PC in a domain.  For exmaple, my personal desktop is p390-7.prime.terabyte.net.  If I wanted to keep track of systems by FQDN this would be why a . would be needed.  It is possible to have 2 domains on the same subnet so keeping them differentiated could be necessary.

Agreed. I will file an enhancement request for the "." in the device name.
