Hello,
I would like to ask if when does the warranty of a sold cisco unit starts? Does it starts as soon as the unit is being bought by the client? How about those units being sold after a year of being stocked at their office.
Is it true that the warranty will start as soon as the unit leaves from cisco’s warehouse and that there is a 90 days grace period given to that? Does this applies only to the distributor?
Thanks,

Hi Rey, when a device is shipped to the distributor/reseller, the time it is sold is the date that is entered in to the warranty database. Usually 3 months is added to the date.
However, that is unfair to a customer who then buys the unit from the reseller. So, what happens is when you call in for support and you bought the unit much earlier, you're asking for a proof of purchase which then is provided to a project manager that gets the records updated for your true purchase date.
