EHSA is like the heartbeat/polling from the switch master to each switch members.

The cause or reason for the crash of "EHSA keepalive timeout" is "generic" and can be caused by a lot of reasons.  One of the reasons we've encountered with 16.12.4 (3850 & 9300) is when there is a memory leak or one of the CPU hits critical level.  When this critical stage is reached, the EHSA process stops (choked by the high CPU or memory exhaustion) and fools the secondary switch to reboot.

16.12.4 (along with 16.12.1, 16.12.2 and 16.12.3) are very, very buggy releases.  I personally believe these infernal/inferior versions should be removed from the download page.

NOTE:  16.12.5/16.12.5b is still too early to determine if it is "stable" or not.

Hi Everyone

I have same issue with 2 stacks (Model C9200L-48P-4X), 1 stack failed 2 weeks ago and today we had the same issue with another one. The version is 17.06.05, I could not find any documentation about the issue with this version. Anyone has more information about this model? and if is this issue also with that IOS Version?
