I am implementing cloud discovery method ( as last resort ) for my 9120AXI access points to discover PnP server which is on-prem DNAC controller. The AP is running image 8.10.105.0. It couldn't get authenticated ( Cert verification failed) in Cisco Plug and Play Connect portal because it's clock is not in sync and it's mandatory to sync with either local NTP server in my organization or public NTP servers ( time-pnp.cisco.com / pool.ntp.org). The problem is that AP doesn't communicate with NTP servers as per bug CSCvu43631. As a workaround I tried two things: 1. push DHCP option 42 with NTP server IP
2. Map 'pnpntpserver.companydomain' to my local ntp server. Both didn't work. TAC recommended software upgrade but I cannot afford to upgrade 100s of APs since it takes away the essence of ZTP. It simply doesn't make sense.
DHCP/DNS based discoveries are not in scope at the moment.
Do we have any solution for this ntp time sync scenario?
