CSCwd65819 NVMe non-optimal state F1945 M5, M6

We see this on M6 (PID  UCSC-C240-M6SN) as Fault F1945 in UCS Manager on all NVMe drives/controllers.

Applicable?

Will Cisco develop a fix?

If it is occurring on M5 and M6 seems that Cisco should respond with a firmware fix.

Support is asking us to "try turning it off and on" as a solution. This is not a solution, this is masking the underlying bug.

Specific instructions:

  1. Put the server in maintenance mode from HX connect or vsphere.
  2. Power Drain / Power cycle the server. (Removing the cables including power cable and long pressing the power button for few seconds and then plug in the cables after 10 minutes.)

  3. In the UCSM Navigation pane, click the Equipment tab.
  4. On the Equipment tab, expand Equipment > Rack Mounts > Servers.
  5. Choose the server that you want to acknowledge.
  6. In the Work pane, click the General tab.
  7. In the Actions area, click Server Maintenance.
  8. In the Maintenance dialog box, do the following:
  9. Click Re-acknowledge. Click OK

I opened a case for this problem on UCSC-C240-M6SN and Cisco has created a new bug report. Perhaps this will also be backwards-compatible to M5 and solve both.

it's listed as a cosmetic buy and terminated, so I don't think they are planning to fix it at all.
