Why does my laptop keep disconnecting from Cisco AnyConnect VPN?

Hi everyone,

I've been having an ongoing issue with my laptop frequently disconnecting from the Cisco AnyConnect VPN. It usually stays connected for a few minutes, then suddenly drops the connection without any clear error message. Sometimes it reconnects automatically, but often I have to restart the VPN client manually.

Here are a few more details:

  • Laptop OS: [Insert your OS and version, e.g., Windows 11 Pro, macOS Ventura, etc.]

  • AnyConnect Version: [Insert version, if known]

  • Internet connection: Stable (tested with streaming and downloads without interruptions)

  • Connection type: Wi-Fi (though I’ve also tried Ethernet with similar results)

  • VPN Server: Provided by my workplace

  • Antivirus/Firewall: [List if any third-party security software is installed]

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Reinstalling Cisco AnyConnect

  • Flushing DNS and resetting network settings

  • Disabling IPv6

  • Checking with IT – they say everything looks fine on their end

  • Using a different Wi-Fi network (same issue occurs)

Has anyone experienced this before or found a solution? Could it be a compatibility issue with my OS, or something else like aggressive power-saving settings?
