ASR IOS-XE upgrade

Hello All,

I need to upgrade my ASR 1002-X. Currently it is running with version 15.5(3)S2b. Planning to upgrade to 16.8.3, but it says it is Fuji version. I am confused with names Denali, Everest, Fuji and Gibraltar. please advise what is the difference and which one to choose in these names. Also, Can i do the upgrade directly from my older version to new or any step upgrade required.

thanks!

Hi
Denali and Everest are usually MD release Main deployments while fuji and Gib are ED releases early deployments , MDs are generally more stable than EDs as there tested for longer but EDs contain the latest features and enhancements , can be a trade off what you pick

may need to be on specific rom to use 16.8 reading the release notes

You can upgrade direct.
Just make sure you read the Release Notes carefully.
And don't forget to upgrade the ROMmon!
