Hi, we recently purchased a new Catalyst 9300 switch with Network adv license. The default smart licensing is enabled. Do we need to register the switch to Cisco smart licensing portal? The switch keeps generating error "Communications failure with the Cisco Smart License Utility (CSLU) : Unable to resolve server hostname/domain name" . Can we ignore this error message? Anyone can pls advise, thanks in advance!
License Usage:
License Entitlement Tag Count Status
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
network-advantage (C9300-48 Network Advan...) 2 IN USE
dna-advantage (C9300-48 DNA Advantage) 2 IN USE

Hi
The switch will not stop working if you do not register but Yes, you should. Smart lisensing can be done either with the switch connected on the internet directly or using a local server acting as a proxy.
Or you can download the token from the smart account and add to the switch

What firmware is the stack on?
The log entries can be "muted" by using a logging discriminator (we have) but I will need to the complete log entries. Post the complete output to the command "sh log" but remove lines about interface(s) going down/up.
