Faulty Voicemail

Last week our reception telephone stopped giving access to our voicemails. It is a cisco device. The red button indicating that there were voicemails was there, but we were not able to access the voicemails. Then the voicemails came in a few days later all at the same time: 8:59PM.

What could have gone wrong and how can we prevent this from happening again?
