Help about poe

hello

I have a 48 port poe switch 2960. And I have connected 4 yealink voip phones to it with cat6 network cable. The cable lengths are 80, 130, 200 and 270 meters respectively. Three of the phones are turned on and registered by poe. But the fourth phone which is 270 meters away is turned on but does not register and the network unavailable message is displayed. It seems that it is only turned on and there is no data connection. Also the port light on the switch is not lit. I wanted to see where the problem is? Is it because of the long distance? How many meters does poe support? Is there a way?
Thank you

did you try another port ? do you sure you run lldp in this port
also check if SW have enough power for last phone

MHM

Yes, I tried other ports and it didn't work.
What do you mean by lldp?
How do I know if the switch has enough power for the port?

Ethernet max is rated for 100 Meters, I'm surprised only 1 isn't working.

Only one phone should work. Ethernet is limited to 100 meter.   The PoE may run futher because it is just power but data will not work at that distance.

I have had AP work up to 140 meters, obviously it failed on standards test and passed all check on electrical properties so we let it slide, but in your case the distance is way too much. You should not exceed Ethernet limit of 100 meter, if you do use a repeater (another small switch with POE)

-hope this helps-

So I'm lucky that my 200m phone works. So I have to use another switch at a closer distance. Thanks everyone.

Anything >100 metres will not work.
