Hello
I apologize if I'm not in the right section for my question/suggestion.
Like many I use Cisco Packet Tracer and I would like to know if Cisco intends to update the software with the implementation of new routers, switchs, asa and other features.
I know it's a lot of work but when you want to make topologies a little more complex it's not possible because it's not supported by the software.
To be honest, I'd even be prepared to pay a monthly subscription fee, for example, to have these much more advanced hardware and functionality additions.
So yes, there's GNS3 and EVE-NG, and maybe others I've forgotten or don't know about, but setting them up and configuring them is far from simple, and sometimes it's just a matter of tinkering to get the software to work.
And above all you need the IOS... so I agree you can get them on the internet but most of them are very old versions or not compatible; even more tinkering.
I really don't think I'm the only one who wants this type of upgrade and or monthly subscription with the addition of multiple hardware, functionality for more complex topologies like CCNP and above.
Thank you

Can not respond on behalf of Cisco but I will leave my 50 cent. As per the period interval PT has been updated, sounds like it is not going to any other level. I hope I am wrong cause personally I find it a great project.
But, Cisco seems to be investing in CML lastly and probably the focus is now on that platform.

Hello @malfury77
Cisco PT, while immensely useful, is indeed limited to more basic scenarios and CCNA-level topologies, which can be frustrating when you want to simulate more advanced networks or prepare for CCNP or higher certifications.
Cisco has historically marketed Packet Tracer as a free educational tool, primarily targeting CCNA-level learners through its Networking Academy. However, as networking certifications grow more complex (with technologies like SD-WAN, ACI, and automation becoming standard), the gap between learning tools and real-world scenarios is becoming more pronounced.
I’d suggest sharing your feedback directly with cisco through their Networking Academy forums or customer feedback channels. The more users express interest in such features, the more likely Cisco is to consider expanding PT’s capabilities.
