Removing 16.3.7 .pkg files after downgrade to 3.3.5

We are downgrading a new switch from 16.3.7 to 3.3.5.  We have installed it and want to remove unnecessary package files.  Using the software clean command, we get this (see below) and I am concerned about letting it remove cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.03.05.SE.150-1.EZ5.bin and packages.conf.

Since we are in install mode and are not removing cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.03.05.SE.150-1.EZ5.conf - is it safe to remove cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.03.05.SE.150-1.EZ5.bin ?  What about packages.conf?  It seems like we need those.  Has anyone else done this?

Note: "Request platform software package clean" does not work; not recognized as a valid command.

Yes, but save .bin file to PC, usb, or rename .bin_backup and save packages.conf;
you never know when u will need it back later

not sure why it says will delete "packages.conf". if u do show boot , u may see it set to boot from that file. so maybe just in case rename (copy) that file to packages.conf_backup

do show boot; u can boot switch from packages.conf (install mode) or from .bin (bundle mode).  Install mode is recommended by Cisco, so all mine switches are running from packages.conf without .bin file.

Wow. Downgrading from 16.3.7 to 3.3.5. That is one brave move.
Has the switch loaded 3.3.X before?

If the switch came loaded with 16.X.X from the factory, please have a look at the Bug ID CSCva22409 before undergoing any downgrades.

NOTE:  CSCul95378 is related to CSCva22409.

We successfully installed the 3.3.5 IOS, and it boots.  We want to remove the 16.3.7 .pkg files.  When we run the software clean command, it lists those files to be removed, but shows two others that we don't want to remove.  It doesn't let us choose not to remove those two files.  We need a way to remove the unwanted files, and not the two that we want to keep.
