Hello @fmugambi
Yes, Cisco VIRL is a network modeling and simulation tool that allows users to create virtual network topologies for testing, training, and educational purposes. It provides a sandbox-like environment for designing, configuring, and testing various network scenarios.

@fmugambi VIRL was renamed, but same idea - Cisco Modeling Lab (CML) is a commercial platform for network virtualization, encompassing routers, switches, and security devices. The CML system includes licensed Cisco software images and devices, distinguishing it from alternatives like GNS3 or Eve-NG. The software is priced at around $200 annually for the personal edition, which supports up to 20 simultaneous devices.
Although the minimum system requirements are 4 CPUs, 8GB RAM, and a 16GB hard drive, meeting these specifications may not suffice to run 20 routers concurrently.
Hope this helps.

VIRL is gone, history, replaced by CML. CML has some unique images that u cannot find anywhere else but it needs server based PC, aka lots of resources . If u need to simulate large network with several devices, use gns3 or eveng.
Regards, ML
