ws-c3560g-48ts-s v2 update

cpapplefamily

Level 1

-I have found many threads on this but they seem to be outdated with links that no longer seem to work. I understand this is an EOL product and is closely at EOS (May 2021) I am not an IT professional and am not using this device for enterprise networks. This switch is called out by the part number to work with a First Robotics Field Management System built by a team out in California (Team 254 The Cheesy Poofs) The FMS is build to configure the switch between matches for the team that are scheduled to play in that match. I have one of these switches. I don't know the differences between the IOS versions but the included configuration that come with the Cheesy Arena are tagged with V15 and the switch I have is V12.

In the Downloads section of the Cisco sight there is no part that exsactly matches the ws-c3560g-48ts-s model number. There are several listing that closely match but not knowing the differences between the option I don't think it would be a good idea to randomly pick a download.

If there are any run commands I need to run please let me know.

If this helps here is the first few lines of the running config:

IOS firmware to support the switch can be found HERE.

I have looked at the downloaded. It has been difficult to identify if any one particular download is compatible. I don't understand the ecosystem here. If the download is generic and compatible with the entire line cool, but the release doc dose list exceptions.

For the 3560G, download either the latest 12.2(55)SE or 15.0(2)SE train.  Either one will do just fine.

TIP:  Do not pick the release with a "star" -- The star is just "for show".

It is well acknowledged that 12.2(55)SE or 15.0(2)SE trains are Cisco's "finest", if not the best, software releases for the 3560/3750 family of switches and nothing can/will ever surpass their stability.
