LinkedIn Learning

Just wondering why there is no official Meraki courses on LinkedIn Learning?

I'm doing the Meraki courses since 2022 on Meraki Learning but I think it's also a good idea to have the Meraki courses on LinkedIn Learning so we can listen to the courses when we can't use a laptop.

LinkedIn Learning is a third party. Their courses are, as far as I can see, developed by them and their contractors. LinkedIn is also a part of Microsoft and while they are a partner they are also a competitor in some areas. While it certainly could be good to add mobile to Cisco's existing learning platforms. I can't see them putting anything directly on LinkedIn

Linkedin is overrated IMO, I would rather access training or course material directly from a vendor than a 3rd party.

Yah, There is nothing better than getting trained and getting access to the course meterial directly from the Vendor itself.

Thanks for posting @Rabih, that's an interesting suggestion. Since much of our current training content is visual (dashboard walkthroughs, configurations, device onboarding, etc.), I'm curious - what type of Meraki content would you be interested in listening to? Also, you mentioned "when we can't use a laptop", what device would you typically be using for this?

I'm not sure that we'll ever have content on LinkedIn Learning, but I'd love to hear more about what you would find helpful. Feel free to reply here or you could message me directly.

Most of the major vendors, such as Cisco, Microsoft, and CompTIA, offer courses on LinkedIn Learning.

I'd like to see Meraki there as well.
Why am I suggesting this? I usually watch and listen to lectures on my phone when I can't use my laptop. Plus, listening and watching is a good alternative way to learn especially when one is outdoor, and it's easier on the eyes. I know that Meraki courses are light and easy to understand. They're summarized, and the webpage interface itself is nice and not distracting.

As for the topics to be covered, let's say the fundamentals and preparation for the CMSS exams.

Online training uses a learning management system (LMS). Only crazy people try and build their own LMS. Therefore, it is highly probable that Cisco Meraki is using an LMS they have purchased from someone else.

The question then becomes, out of the third-party LMSs available, which one is the most appropriate to use. Which has the best features, etc. You don't want to use more than one LMS, as it will substantially increase your costs (the biggest cost is the people required to create content for the specific LMS and manage it).

My guess is that Cisco Meraki evaluated the LMS platforms on the market, and the one they chose is the best fit.
