MAC address curiosity

is it a coincidence that the Meraki MX's mac address starts with a 68:XX:XX:XX (when it happens to be an MX68) and that the switches start with 34:XX:XX:XX and that the AP's start with E0:XX:XX etc.. ?

also, what is a MAC that starts with CC:XX:XX etc.. ?

just found it weird.. as i was looking up a certain mac address for "multiple dhcp servers" and the last half of the mac address matched my target, but the first one did not..i find that odd

The CC macs are usually the HA (VRRP) macs of MXs.

As to the rest of the MACs, MACs are assigned by the IEEE to manufacturers and they then assign them to the devices. Any rhyme or reason to the leading digits and where they are assigned is generally going to be purely coincidence.
