Update Project Manager

If a new Project Manager has been assigned to the project, it is important that this be updated using the Update Project Manager action.  This can be performed by any resource with Project Manager level authority on the project (Project Manager, Work Manager, or Delivery Manager).

Step Additional Info

1. Select the project you wish to work with.

2. Click on the Change Project Manager icon in the Action Menu to the right.

The Project ID and Current Project Manager will be shown in a read only form.

3.  Specify whether to end the Work Manager Assignment.

4. Enter the Date that the Change should take effect.

5. Select the new Project Manager from the drop down list of values

6. Choose whether to have the system Create (or Extend) a work manager assignment for the new Project Manager

7. If you selected to create a work manager assignment, you must enter the expected hours / percent allocation that the New Project Manager will be assigned.

8.  When you are done, simply hit the X in the upper right corner.

Notes:

A Project Manager is the associated owner of the project.  Updating the Project Manager, without creating an associated Work Manager Schedule will mean that the Project Manager owns the project but is not assigned to the project.

If there are issues creating the new Work Manager schedule using this method, this can be done after the fact by the new Project Manager by creating a direct assignment in the Resources functional area, and selecting "Work Manager" as the project role.
