Local APIC Sandbox?

Hello

I am a dev and I would like to explore APIC REST API communication. For this purpose, I need a working APIC environment. 

I know that CISCO has a public APIC sandbox (https://sandboxapicdc.cisco.com), but WebUI is extremely slow.

Is it possible to set up and configure a local APIC instance using some virtualization/emulation?
