Sandbox IOS XE on CSR Recommended Code Always On

Connections from Postman to always on Sandbox CSR time out. Using RESTCONF requests from DevNet Learning Labs. I could not ping or SSH (used hostname and IP address while using the basic auth credentials provided). Connection should not be filtered out, tried multiple connections from different ISPs. Postman connects and I can SSH into the Reserved Lab with VPN connection. Only the ALWAYS ON lab which does not require the VPN connection can not be reached.

  • CSR1000V Host: ios-xe-mgmt.cisco.com
    • SSH Port: 8181
    • NETCONF Port: 10000
    • RESTCONF Ports: 9443 (HTTPS)
  • Username: developer
  • Password: C1sco12345

My bad. I could have sworn I tried the default SSH port but I guess I didn't. The lab states SSH Port:8181 but that was the problem. I can connect using the default ssh port. If this was wrong, then the RESTCONF port (9443) may also be wrong...checking port 443....

I could not get https to ios-xe-mgmt.cisco.com port 443 but I was able to use other DevNet ALWAYS on lab, ios-xe-mgmt-latest.cisco.com. That worked with ssh:22 and https:443 (for Postman).

Solution: Don't use ios-xe-mgmt.cisco.com, use instead ios-xe-mgmt-latest.cisco.com.
