I am studying VPC anb i want to know if we can form interface bonding on the ubuntu appliance we have on the Cisco Enterprise modelling labs so that i can test out if my server or the downstream device is redundant or not. if so please let me know the configurations on the server side please.

From what i read in other thread, the stock Ubuntu image utilizes the VirtIO NIC driver, which doesn't support speed or duplex. You need to build a profile that uses the E1000 driver, and then Ubuntu will send LACP frames.

 Here's a new video from Joe Clarke that sets both the speed and duplex settings during boot for the currently bundled Ubuntu node: https://youtu.be/i9WGh8JGZdc

Hope this helps.

@bigevilbeard This video is helpful. But ho do i connect my ubuntu host to the internet from CML. I am using the enterprise modelling labs in this case. I have connected the external connector to the ubuntu host. The ubuntu host can ping the default gateway but can't reach out to the internet. Anyone have solution for this ?

Can someone help me with how to configure bonbing on the server step by step please. it seems the video only covers how to change the speed and duplex of the ethernet interfaces of the server as of now.

Hello Team,  Can anyone help me out with my quarry please ?

@pritam.das29 check this thread here --> https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/question/0D53i00000hsMcGCAU/does-nic-teaming-work-with-any-of-the-ubuntu-or-alpine-hosts-in-cml2

You might be limited in some of the steps due to this being in a sandbox and in the thread above this is being done on CML Personal with access to more resources. But it _could_ help. If this does not, i would post this question into the CML forum and ask one of the team to check if this is possible.

Hope this helps.

Seems Interesting @bigevilbeard . let me try the suggestion from this post. But in case if you could check with the CML development team to incorporate the missing feature for configuring bonding will be really helpful.

@pritam.das29 sorry i do not know the CML development team. You would need to post in the CML community and ask if this feature can be added in a future release.
