Unable to ssh to sandbox from linux vm

Hello,

I'm trying to ssh to this sandbox https://devnetsandbox.cisco.com/RM/Diagram/Index/7b4d4209-a17c-4bc3-9b38-f15184e53a94?diagramType=Topology from my linux centos 8 VM but the connection is stuck at the password prompt:

[root@localhost ~]# ssh developer@sandbox-iosxe-recomm-1.cisco.com

this is my TE automated banner enabled
for DEMO Purpose
Password:

after I type the password and hit enter, it returns nothing...

I tried another VM (also centos but the same thing happened again. However, when I ssh using putty from my windows 10 laptop, it works perfectly fine.

any idea what might be the problem?

another piece of info is that I can ssh perfectly fine from the same centos VM to a juniper SRX firewall...
