Calculate interface bandwidth utilization Cisco Nexus

I'm trying to calculate the interface utilization for the Cisco Nexus with the values that I'm getting through the SNMP.
I've come across this page which mentions using the delta between two poll cycles to calculate input utilization.
delta = (poll2 - poll1)
If poll1>poll2, the delta would be negative, and the Input Utilization will also be negative.
Not sure, how to proceed in this case.

Any idea how is the proper way to calculate it?

If poll1>poll2, the delta would be negative, and the Input Utilization will also be negative.   << in this case there is no traffic on that interface, so Pool1 is still valid and you need to show that is as bandwidth.
