Can I Update IOS Switch 2960S

Good evening all,

I have a 2960S switch and I was wondering if I can update it to the latest version of IOS? Does anyone know if there is any version that was the last suggested for this model? Because it is no longer supported and I wanted to know if I'm at risk of vulnerabilities, or if I can keep it up to date with patches made available for newer models.

Latest version for this device is c2960s-universalk9-mz.152-2a.E1.bin

cisco device like switch have no patches. You need to replace the IOS for a newer version.

Hello but I can update ever? Or have some time to finish this update. Or my hardware is not compatible with some new version. 

Because if there some problem I need talk with my boss for buy the new hardware maybe the series X.

Hi

 Yes you can. As long as Cisco keep this version available you can install.

This version I shared was taken from cisco site based on your switch model, so,  you are good to go. 

But if you can buy a new hardware, it is always a good option.
