Multigigabitports

Hello everyone, how are you? I'm looking into the port range of the Cisco Catalyst C9200-48PXG-A switch, specifically identifying which ports support Multigigabit. So far, I haven't found this information in the documentation, such as the datasheet.

Could someone assist me with this? I'm curious to know if these Multigigabit ports are explicitly marked on the switch.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Gabriel,

Really good question. I haven't any experience myself with the C9200 PXG switches, but I came across this: 9200L-24PXG multigigabit ports.

So it is likely that you see a blue line under the interfaces and/or see the interfaces as "te x/x/x" on the switch.

I will agree with you, finding documentation about this is really not easy.

There is not marked on the switch, but you can see show interface status 8 port shows support mgig.

Hello @gabriel.lima.caitano ,

looking at the 9200 switch architecture https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-9200-series-switches/nb-06-cat9200-architecture-cte-en.html#Frontpanelinterfaces

Fig. 14 describes the High level block diagram of the C9200-48PXG. As you can see

Ports 1 through 36 are mapped to ASIC1 and connected with 1G PHY to the ASIC

Ports 37 through 40 are mapped to ASIC1 and connected with mGig PHY to the ASIC

Ports 41 through 48 are mapped to ASIC0 and connected with mGig PHY to the ASIC

Based on this, you will have the following port numbering in the switch: GigabitEthernet1/0/1-36 and TenGigabitEthernet1/0/37-48

Hope this helps.

Regards, LG
