Upgrade iOS asr 1004 RP2 from 16.03 to 17.xx

Hello everyone.

I need to upgrade an ASR 1004 RP2 that actually is using version 16.03 to version 17.xx

I have a question if this upgrade can be done directly or there is an upgrade path and also about the license, after the upgrade I need to reinstall or it maintains normally.

Hi Milton!

I'm not found anything about the license when you update to version 17.x.x, but Cisco put 8 steps to update for the new version here. You check it?

Look at the release notes and upgrade steps :

1. Make the backup config out of the box.

2. 16.9 onwards smart License manadatory

3. you need to convert any license to smart License.

4. Once ROMMON Upgrade done you can not role back to old ROMMON.
