I have tested but not used in prod. The whole patloaded is encrypted to HTML and send to recipient. At the user end the user gets a key then de-crypts. If the message size is large, > 3-5Mb then the user experience can be slow and frustrating.
PXE will not cater for external users who have SMIME PGPOpen standards, you will need to look at the IEA as well.
There will be a performance hit of somekind on applience.
