[ESA] Bug during backup from SMA M680 version 12.5.0-670 to SMA M395 versión 12.5.0-670

Hi,

We have recently been trying to migrate from an SMA M680 (source) to SMA M395 (Destination), but we are experimenting some issues  when executing the backup. When the task finish (after about 3 or 4 hours) at the end source SMA sends the following error:

The Warning message is:

BACKUP: Unable to update MID on remote machine 10.23.21.XXX due to the error: CIPM.admon-xxxx.es: The daemon is not responding., This may cause inconsistencies with Quarantine database.

Version: 12.5.0-670
Serial Number: xxxxxx
Timestamp: 14 Jun 2021 18:35:09 +0200

I have found it to be a BUG https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCul18507/?rfs=iqvred

Trying to find a solution, we have updated the 2 SMAs to version 12.8.1 and executed the backup task again, but now SMA source now send/show another error when the backup is finished running:

The Critical message is:

An application fault occurred: ('python2.6_10_amd64_nothr / pickle.py load_eof | 880', "<type 'exceptions.EOFError'>", '', '[_coro.pyx coro._coro._wrap1 (chorus / _coro.c: 8505) | 757] [egg / gui.py restore_fireamp_private_certs | 1172] [python2.6_10_amd64_nothr / pickle.py load | 1370] [python2.6_10_amd64_nothr / pickle.py load | 858] [python2.6_10_amd64_nothr / pickofle.py | 880 load_eofle | ] ')

Version: 12.8.1-002
Serial Number: xxxx
Timestamp: 16 Jun 2021 11:51:19 +0200

Both errors are sent/show by the source SMA after the backup is finished.

Did someone already experienced this issue with this release or another one , and find or received a explananation/answer from support?

Hey Adan,

Probably not what you wanted to hear but this is https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvc39315.

I would recommend to contact CIsco TAC and have the remote tunnel opened for them.

They will be able to rectify it.

Thanks,

Mathew
