Hi,
i have to redirect all my incoming mails to a mta that i am not allowed to manage.
Now i have the challenge to keep the mailflow working even if the boxes are not available.
In best case without any manual configuration.
The redirect to the other box will be made via message filter. Now i thought about following solution:
SMTP Route:
hostname
Cost 10 foreign appliance1
Cost 10 foreign appliance2
Cost 20 ironport public listener1 (the same listener all the mails are entering the enterprise)
Cost 20 ironport public listener2 (the same listener all the mails are entering the enterprise)
Messagefilter:
if header xxx is false
set header xxx true
alternate mailhost hostname
So for all the mails that come in a custom header is set and than are routed to the other appliance, if this appliances are not reachable the message is routed back to the public listener (with set header) and the condition for the message filter is not true and the mail is routed via "default SMTP Routes".
Is this a valid possiblity to set up the config?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Tom
