I have a customer who does not want to have a separate firewall and router, he wants everything in the same box. So, some time ago I saw that you could have a C8300+UCS E and add an FTDv but this on sdwan mode....
My question is if i can use this same practical case "Deploying FTDv virtualized security on SD-WAN Cat8K/UCS -E modules" but in non-sdwan mode, that is, in traditional routing, since for them it is not an option, they only want the FTD functions embedded in a router.
This is the reference link for the case study: Deploying FTDv virtualized security on SD-WAN Cat8K/UCS-E modules - Cisco Community

Hi,
Simple answer, yes.
I guess there is a confusion here; FTD is just FTD, it doesn't have SD-WAN and non-SD-WAN deployment modes. The mentioned document has the SD-WAN term just because FTDv is deployed on a UCS module inside the 8K platform (that can be used as a regular router or SD-WAN).
Best,
Cristian.
