Preserve Timestamp on FTP file transfer

When we transfer files with a module for Python, original timestamps are maintained from the server.  When we transfer files with the FTP plugin for TIDAL, timestamps are marked as the time the file was downloaded from the source.

Is there any switch or property somewhere, that I can modify, to preserve the original timestamps?

I have been asked to automate an ftp where the only files I should get are those who's modify date is within the last 2 days.  The company I am trying to ftp from doesn't delete the old files, just adds to them.
